Loving the sun!

On Monday it was perfect for getting the little pool out to play. Dallin spent almost 2 hours jumping in and out of the pool. I put Alyssa's feet in the pool, and she hated it! It was just too cold. Dallin splashed her quite a bit too. So she sat under the umbrella and played with toys far far away from the pool.

My friend Michelle came to visit for a few days. One day we went to the park to play and have a picnic. It was a pretty hot and humid day, but this park was under trees so it wasn't too bad!

No Power

Today was one of the first days it got into the 90's, and our power was out after church for about 4 hours. So it was a little warm in our house. At first Dallin was fascinated that the lights wouldn't turn on when he flipped the switch. He probably talked about the "power" 99% of the time it was out. As it became closer to his bedtime, he was very concerned. The power did come on right before bed, and in his prayer he asked for the power to stay on so he wouldn't be scared.

We bought Dallin a new church outfit so we tried to take pictures this morning. Well, we couldn't get Dallin to do a real smile, but doesn't he look so handsome?

Alyssa was up almost the entire night last night, but was all smiles when we let her get up. She played in the kitchen while Jeff made waffles.

Alyssa and Daddy

Alyssa playing with her toys. I think Dallin was making her laugh in the first picture, which he does quite frequently. She really loves her brother.

We bought Alyssa her first pink ball and she loves it. We are starting to get a little more pink in our house...

No More Diapers!!!

Dallin is officially off of diapers. We used the last one a couple nights ago. He still has pull ups at night, but he does great during the day! He is very proud of himself for using the potty. I've decided potty training isn't the most fun responsibility of a mom, but I sure am glad it has finally come. The other day he was going #2 and told daddy, "I have airplane poop!" and started to laugh really hard. Jeff didn't understand, so Dallin explained. He said, "It flies off my bum into the potty!" It made us laugh!

Playing

Alyssa is growing up fast. She loves jumping in the jumper now. She gets very excited.

She can also sit up now. She gets too excited and falls over a lot, but if she has the boppy pillow around her she feels secure and doesn't really fall.

Since she has been playing so much during the day, at night she has been exhausted.
We went to a garage sale yesterday and found this car track for Dallin for a couple of dollars. He loves it, and daddy likes it almost as much. They have already spent several hours playing together.

Touch a Truck 2010

Today we went to the Touch a Truck event where you get to sit and play with different trucks and tractors. Dallin loved it and said his favorite was the bus...only a couple more years. Alyssa was great and sat in the stroller and didn't make a peep the whole time. She enjoys being outside now.

The tractors.

The skid steer.
The police car. They were very impressed he put the seat belt on first.

This is the police truck that Dallin started to drive. They had the truck turned on so the kids could play with the lights. Well, Dallin took it out of park and it started to go right for Alyssa. It freaked me and the police man out a little. They turned it off after that.
Ambulance. In the back he was trying to figure out all the buttons.
Fire truck
Snow plow
Bus
Dump truck?
Dallin and Caleb playing in the bubbles.
Alyssa hanging out in the stroller.

BYU BYU!

We went to Jeff's brothers house this past Saturday so the men could go golfing. The kids had fun playing with their cousins. Here is Alyssa and Ella playing.

The ride home ended up taking us about 3 hours because we forgot Jed (Dallin's dog he ALWAYS has with him) at his uncle's house. So I sat in the back to keep them up so they would go to bed when we got home. Dallin was really keeping me entertained singing songs. Here is his version of the BYU fight song. I love how he says BYU!

Happenings This Week

Alyssa turned 5 months this week, so we started her on solid food. She hated it and didn't really know what to do with it. She is starting to figure it out and doesn't mind it as much.

After eating Dallin was making her happy!

He tried the rice cereal too because he was feeling left out. He hated it!

Alyssa has started to hold her toys with her feet to play with them now. It makes us laugh.

For playgroup today, we got to go to the Fire Station. Dallin thought it was the coolest thing ever and talked about it ALL day. We learned the difference between a fire truck and a fire engine. We also got to explore all around the fire station. Dallin and Alyssa got a hat, coloring book and certificates. It was a lot of fun!

St. Louis

Five years ago on April 30th, Jeff and I were married in the Jordan River Temple. So to celebrate we decided to take a trip to St. Louis for the weekend. It was very tiring with 2 kids, but was a lot of fun and worth it. We went to the zoo (which happened to be field trip day for school so there were tons of kids), went shopping at bigger malls than ours :), went to swing around which had mini golf and lots of arcade games, went swimming, went to the arch, ate lots of good food like chick fil a, fuddruckers, and Marble Slab, and just had fun hanging around the hotel. Dallin thought the hotel was the sweetest thing, but the kids didn't sleep very well. One of the times we went to dinner, Dallin fell asleep in the car, and slept on the bench in the restaurant. That is how worn out he was after all the fun. It was a fun vacation!

Here is a slide show of all the pictures we took. We almost 400 pictures, so it was too hard to narrow down. I did manage to narrow it down to about 70 :)

Dallin jumped off the side of the pool over and over for at least an hour. He was not scared of the water at all. In fact, he would just jump even if no one was near him. It made me nervous...I guess we need to get him some swim lessons.
