Toledo

This last weekend we went to visit our friends Nick and Sarah in Toledo, Ohio. We had a great time. It was Nick's birthday, so we surprised him by showing up! Dallin loved being there and was mad we made him come home with us. Jeff got to play lots of video games, Dallin got to play with Seth and buzz light year, and Alyssa enjoyed the attention as long as mom was holding her. We went to a park, out to eat, watched movies, and went to this great place called African Safari Wildlife Park.

The African Safari Wildlife Park is a drive through safari where you can meet and feed animals. They come right into your window expecting food. It was so much fun. We were all laughing and having fun.

This buffalo got mad that we wouldn't give him food. He stood by Jeff's window and then went and stood in front of the car. It took awhile for him to move. Finally after throwing lots of food away from the car he moved :)
This one had just come out of the little water pond. He smelled sooo nasty and soaked Nick and my car with the water dripping off of his face.
Look at the horns on him. He stuck his face in the car too. I thought for sure he was going to scratch my car all up. He almost broke my antenna off, but my car survived.

Dallin had a blast.
Dallin and I rode a camel. He was really scared at first, but then was ok with it.
The boys looked so cute sitting in the way back. Dallin was exhausted after the long day, and Seth scraped his chin all up falling at the park. It was so sad :(
It was great to visit our friends. We miss them a lot!

The library

I've tried taking Dallin to the library a few times, and it has always been a disaster with him running around/screaming. He has been begging me to take him, so I finally did yesterday. It was wonderful. He picked out several books that we read at the little kid table. Then he got to pick out 5 books to take home and read. His favorite is the one about monsters! He is obsessed with monsters right now. Maybe we will start making weekly visits to the library. I hope he likes reading!

Prunes

As some of you already know, Alyssa HATES food. She won't eat any of it. She either spits it out immediately, or she waits a little and then gags until it comes back out. Well, she finally ate a couple bites of prunes!

Kansas

We went to Kansas this last week to stay with Jeff's parents and had a great time. We went to the lake, did fireworks, played lots of the New Super Mario game, watched lots of movies, went to the park, and had fun just hanging out with all of our family members. Jeff got to go golfing a couple times, and I got to do some shopping! Dallin absolutely loves playing with all of his cousins. We really wish we could see them more.

The Petersen boys really get into fireworks on the 4th of July. Of course, Dallin follows in his daddy's footsteps and LOVED setting off the fireworks. He got to stay up late and stayed by Jeff's side setting them off all night. After almost every one he set off, he would turn around and say, "That was awesome!" It was so cute.



One day we all went to the Lake. We sat on the beach for awhile, went swimming, and rode on the boat. Dallin would have stayed on the boat the entire time if we let him. He loves Grandpa's boat. He even did a little tubing.

I didn't think she would like the water, but she loved it. She just floated around in this little float for awhile.

Alyssa wasn't a huge fan of the life jacket, but the boat relaxed her instantly.

Dallin also got to ride Grandma's "tractor" and mow the lawn. Alyssa just enjoyed sitting on the grass while he was mowing.
Our friends Danika and Nick drove almost 3 hours each way to come visit with us for a few hours. It was so much fun to see them. I wish we could see them more!

We went to a pool while we were there. The kids loved it. Dallin went down the kids slide like a 100 times. Aly splashed around for awhile. She even let Grandpa hold her so Jeff and I could go down the big water slide and around the lazy river.

Grandma bought some pools for the kids to play with outside. Alyssa thought it was cold at first but then had fun splashing around with her cousin.

Dallin had a blast playing with his cousin too! Here he is jumping around!

Aren't they so cute! Don't worry... Alyssa wasn't getting hurt. She loves her brother!

Alyssa has finally figured out how to roll over both ways. She really wants to be moving, but can't quite figure it out. She does manage to get around a little bit. Here is a video of her moving.

More family

My dad, sister and brother came to visit us this last week. We had a lot of fun. We went to Six Flags on Wednesday, Jeff went golfing, the girls did some shopping and went to the parade of homes, lots of games were played, and the pool was out several times.

Doctors Appointment

The kids had doctor's appointments this morning. I did both at the same time since I had to bring both of them anyways. It was a very long hour +. Dallin was very wild but did pretty good with the doctor. Alyssa did fine until somebody else touched her. Dallin got 2 shots and Alyssa got 3. They are very healthy and happy kids!
