Nine Month Old Check-Up

A picture of Dallin looking happy right before his Dr. appointment.

This morning Dallin had his nine month check-up. It took awhile to actually get in to see the Dr. I guess he had hospital duty last night, and he was there almost the entire night. Some of his last night drama had dragged into this morning, so we had to wait for almost an hour in the waiting room. Dallin didn't really enjoy sitting there, but I don't want him touching things when other sick kids have touched the same thing. I know, I am a little paranoid. He only had to get one shot this time, and he only screamed for about 30 seconds afterwards. He also had to get some blood taken to make sure his iron levels were ok. He didn't even seem to notice that they had pricked him and were taking a tube of his blood. Dallin hated when the Dr. and nurse touched him when he was sitting on the table. He would immediately try to climb up on me when they got near him.

Dallin is still on the small side. He has gained 12 ounces in the last two months. Not even a pound!! So he went from the 3rd percentile back down to the 2nd percentile. He now weighs 16 lbs 4 oz. At least he is growing taller. He grew almost 2 inches in the last month, and now is 28.4 inches long. He is actually in the 49th percentile, so he has gone up in that category. The last thing they measure is head circumference, which he has always had a small head. It was 43.6 cm, which puts him in the 6th percentile. So all around he is a small boy. However, the Dr. said he looked very healthy and his blood tests came back good. I am so grateful to have a healthy little boy!!

I can't believe how little Dallin is! I'm afraid our baby is going to smash him at some point. I'll probably have a small baby that immediately becomes chunky! That seems to be how my moms babies were ... but we'll see.

So, apparently Dr. Wylee is moving to salt lake to work at university hospital ... stupid Ute! Anyway, the Aspen Women's Center is turning into an IHC Clinic and now i don't know what to do? I mean i kind of want to stay there because they already have all my information, but i really wanted a women dr. ????????

I'm so stressed now!
