Fireworks are a pretty big deal for the Petersen Family, so we went to Kansas to be with all of Jeff's family. It was a lot of fun being around everyone. Jeff took of half day off on Wednesday, and we drove to Kansas. On Thursday we all went to the lake where there was wakeboarding, skiing, and lots of tubing. Jeff participated in all of those activities, and I held Dallin. He wasn't feeling very good at first, so I took him on the boat and he slept the whole time we were on it. I can't believe he slept through all the bumps and stopping and going. It was a long but fun day.
On the 4th, all the men went golfing in the morning. When they got home, the women were prepared for a water fight with all the water balloons and water guns filled up. Later that night, we did the fireworks. Dallin and the rest of my nieces were only up for the beginning, where we did a few fountains and sparklers. The picture above is of Dallin watching a snake, which he thought was pretty neat. After we put all the kids to bed, the men started the show. It was a pretty good show with all the big fireworks. They are not lacking fireworks in Kansas, since everyone and their dog were setting them off.
On Saturday Jeff helped his sister in Wichita move, and I stayed back with Dallin who took almost a 4 hour nap:) He was a tired boy after playing with all of his cousins. Later that night we watched the Bucket List and went to bed. On Sunday we drove back home. It was a quick trip, but we did a lot of fun stuff in the short amount of time we there in Kansas.
