Touch a Truck

For playgroup today, we went to the Touch a Truck event. The place had tons of trucks lined up for the kids to go sit in and "drive." Dallin was scared when we got there, and he wouldn't let me put him down at all. Then he started to get better, and he had a blast. About 15 minutes after we got there, a ton of preschool kids showed up so the lines got long. They drove me nuts because their leaders would just cut in front of me because they had so many...people that cut drive me insane, especially when I'm with an almost 2 year that I am making be patient and wait.

Dallin driving a hummer...they got a little mad at him because he stood up on the seat. I can't believe they thought none of the kids would try that...

Dallin cruising in a police car.

Dallin loved the fire truck!!
We waiting in line for like 15 minutes because dallin really wanted to ride this mini excavator, and then he freaked out because the guy in charge wanted to put him in it...not his mommy. So it was kind of a waste, but at least he stood in there long enough to get a picture.

Then we waited in line for awhile for this tractor thingy (i don't know what it was), and he thought it was so neat and did not want to leave. Look how big the tires are compared to DAllin :)
Then he got to "drive" a tow truck. He loved this one because he got to honk the loud horn. Afterwards, he kept screaming "beep beep!!!"
THen DAllin got to sit in a skid steer. He thought it was neat to push the one button.
And his favorite was the bus, probably because he could just run around on each one. There were three of them (2 school and 1 city). He probably spent a half hour going on and off each one over and over again. The people in charge were getting a kick out of how into the bus he was.

Happy Birthday to Jeff!

Jeff's birthday was yesterday, and we had fun celebrating it. I think Dallin had more fun than us, which was pretty cute. Dallin was so excited when we bought the ice cream cake from Cold Stone. He kept asking for it all day. He also had a blast opening Jeff's presents. He would get so excited even though he had no clue what they were :) It makes me excited for his birthday!

Swimming!

For our playgroup activity this past week, Dallin and I went swimming at the Riverplex. It is this indoor pool place for little kids. Dallin was scared for the first 20 minutes or so, but then had a blast with his friend Caleb. They had fun going down the slide, splashing each other, playing with cups, and throwing the ball back and forth.

Then we let them play at the park for awhile since it was in the 70's!!

Easter Weekend!

Since Jeff had Friday off from work, we decided to take a short trip out to Kansas. It's about a 9 hour drive. We left on Thursday afternoon when Jeff got home. On the way, we stopped in Kansas City and got Chick-fil-a!!! It was yummy. Then we got to Jeff's parents house around 9:30. Dallin was extremely happy to be out of the truck and to be playing with Jed, the dog.

We did some shopping, ate lots of good food, played outside a lot, watched movies, played games, and just enjoyed being around family. Jeff's sister came up with her family, which was nice. Dallin had an easter egg hunt, played lots of trucks with grandma and grandpa, didn't take naps, was obsessed with his new CARS clothes, looked at bunnies and chicks, and enjoyed all the attention he received. We had a really good time. We were sad to come back home on Sunday, but at least we got to visit Jeff's parents for a little bit.

Jeff's dad has this sweet little trike thingy (i don't remember the actual name) that Jeff and I tried out. It has two places for your feet, and you have to move side to side to make it go forward. I'm not gonna lie...it was hard for me to do. I could go downhill, but not back up. Jeff was great at it, and he he had a lot of fun.

Dallin's favorite thing he did was ride on the riding lawn mower. He kept calling it his tractor that he got to ride. He was so excited. Dallin even helped daddy mow the lawn.
Here are some pictures from when Dallin found the easter egg. He loved eating the M&M's afterwards.

The Central Illinois Auto Show

Yesterday morning we went to the Auto show here in town. The auto show just has tons and tons of cars to sit in and look at while you are there. Dallin had a blast. He loved getting to sit in each car and "drive" them. HIs favorite were the trucks!

Here is Jeff seeing if he likes how he looks in a minivan.
Here is Jeff's favorite section...two corvettes and a new camaro

Towards the end, you could Dallin was getting a little tired. He was either sitting on the floor or in his stroller eating his snacks. He also liked to sit in the back of the trucks and relax.

There were also some stuffed people (don't know what they are called) that DAllin enjoyed saying "hi" too. They also had this big blow up jumping thing for Dallin to play on. We really had a good time!

Jeep and Bubble Bath

Dallin has been pretty grumpy the past couple of days. Yesterday he had a really good day because he took a nap. We finally got a new battery for his jeep, so we let him drive it around yesterday afternoon. He calls it his "beep" most of the time:) He enjoyed pressing the pedal, but he does not know how to steer the jeep yet. It does provide some good laughs though.

Then Dallin had his first bubble bath. He was pretty scared of the bubbles at first, but then he thought they were ok. He didn't move for the most part. Normally he is walking and moving the whole time. In the end he liked the bubbles in his bath :)

After Dallin's bubble bath, we made some of those sugar cookies that come out for each holiday. Dallin helped put them on the cookie sheet, and then he stood at the oven waiting for them to finish. When they finished we all had some milk and cookies :)
