Road Trip

One of my favorite things to do each year is the Parade of Homes. For the past couple of years, Jeff and I have gone to the Utah County Parade of Homes. This year it doesn't happen until after we are supposed to be gone. Jeff told me the dates on Thursday night, and I was pretty sad. Then I looked online and the St. George Parade of Homes started on February 15th!! I kind of hinted that I really wanted to go. Finally on Saturday afternoon we decided to take a little road trip to St. George, and it was absolutely wonderful...at least for me!

The weather was perfect! I bet it was in the mid 60's during the days, so Dallin loved being outside. It is just too cold in Orem to let him play outside. I don't think he had ever really been on grass, so we let him sit on some grass for awhile. He was very interested and loved it. Dallin just enjoyed being able to walk around outside. I can't wait for it to get warmer so we can take him to parks and for walks.

Dallin was so good during the trip. He slept for most of the way to St. George and most of the way back. He did great getting in and out of his car seat, which sometimes can be an issue. Since it was just one room at the hotel, we were only like 10 feet from him. We just had to be very quiet. He slept pretty good until he had a messy diaper around 4. Then he wanted to play for awhile. After going to sleep around 5, he slept until 8 so I was pretty happy. He has been waking up between 6:30 and 7, so 8 is getting late! He loved looking at all the neat things in the homes. His favorite things were the pools and fans. There were a couple times where we just could not keep him awake and he would fall asleep on Jeff's shoulder. It was pretty cute. He was pretty tired by the end of Monday.

One of the master bedroom's own hot tub in the secret room!
Some of the homes were amazing. One of the houses was 21,000 square feet. It had 2 theater rooms, a bowling alley, arcade room and waterfalls all over the house. Another house had a 3 story library that was awesome. I could not believe some of the master bedrooms. A lot of the master bedrooms had their own personal hot tub and shower outside the room. There was one room where there was a secret room that had a bed and table. A tunnel went off the room into a hot tub room. Jeff's favorite rooms were the sports rooms, where there were at least 3 huge tvs on the wall to watch all the different games on. There were not very many practical homes, however, there was one home Jeff and I loved that maybe we will have to remember when we can afford to build a home one day! It was such a great weekend.

Oh good - I'm glad that you got to go. Carine was in town this weekend and I gave her your e-mail, so she might try to get ahold of you. I told her that she should check out your blog to see lots of cute pictures of Dallin. she's thinking about applying to law school after her masters...crazy!
